Broom: Erotic was what I was going for. Thanks. :)

Zhu: :) Romance changes courses at different stages in our lives. Where I am, it seems quite the high, for now :)

Cyd: I love that you shred my fables apart :)

Answering a few of your points:

a. Yin is longing for Yang. :)

b. Na, it's the other way around - I wrote ..a face radiates a longing, mirroring the one looking down.

The assumption that Yang is looking down on the Yin is right on, in that case, the Yin is mirroring the longing in the Yang's eyes. So the Yang is setting the agenda here, the Yin is following. For this point at least ;-)

c. The longing is the mystery, I did'nt want to address there, but here goes.

Have you ever felt that you create these little scenarios in your mind where you know exactly what you are longing for, and then when it is enacting itself out, the yearning seems still unfulfilled. As in there's more, more depth, more quality, more time. A feeling of want and desire, unsatiated.. so to speak.

Kissing is surreal sometimes... I like the longing part too. I'm not too romantic (well, not in the FRench kind of way) but that's interesting.

Now I'm reading this seperate from the author (that is, honestly, I don't know, or even as it sounds harsh, care, for the back-story here), but here's the first thing that popped into my mind: the narrator clearly is trying to describe the whole narrative dispassionately. S/he doesn't seem to be taking sides; the yang ("square palms") and yin ("soft skin") seem to be described one after the other. There is the usual tip-of-the-hat to yin-and-yang unity, if I may use the phrase ('transference'), and then the drumbeat starts and eventually ends in an apparently surreal crescendo.

That much is clear.

What isn't, is which (or who's) face is looking down. Now, tradition again demands that we presume that it is the yang looking down, and the yin looking up, in which case, we're present with a three-fold mystery:
a) What is the yin longing for?
b) Why is the yang letting the yin set the agenda here (that is to say, why is he 'mirroring' the longing)?
c) Last, but the most crucial, why is the narrator merely saying 'longing' without telling us anything about what that longing is about?

Of all the other things bothering me, this is what's bothering me the most.

[Rads: This is not to ask you, the author, for a clarification, this is my reaction fully in itself.]

why is it that most of these fables of yours are laced with longing? i dunno, its almost like you are dreaming things and mourning it at the same time.

p.s. and why the PG13ness? i await a fable with a more saucy encounter.
